Handling ammo

I was bagging my ammo stash without gloves cause I wasn't thinking and it occurred to me I should be wearing gloves. Does anyone bother doing so so they won't HAVE to pick up brass if SHTF?

Yep................

Revolvers don't drop shells. 1 should be plenty, 2 is a sure thing. If you use all 6, then you've overstayed your welcome :rolleyes_m: Good point though, I might keep that in mind the next time I get a lot of free time and decide to load my mags. Assuming I unload them at the range first :D

Post all-out nuclear warfare SHTF, I don't think the fingerprint registry will be up. In the police state, I'd be more worried about cameras, biometric ID, RFID dust, taggants, etc....

I probably should have made this a poll. I'm on a roll. :confused_ma:

SHTF, hard? Checking fingerprints will have a far lower priority than eating, shelter, and not bleeding out the orifices.

SHTF, soft? That brass will be dropped off at the scrapyar--er, recycling center, by the first street urchin who happens upon it.

It doesn't seem like a likely pressing concern, but I'm buying ammo because I don't know what SHTF looks like. Your estimations sound about right, but it's a cheap precaution to keep doors open even if they aren't likely to be necessary. Specifically bartering with untainted commodities.

My primary concern is of course having my ammo stolen from me and used in a crime. I think we can all agree on the importance of not only protecting ourselves from misconceptions in anticipation of such a situation, but also in adequately securing our ammo from unauthorized access and removal.
